Each client, couple, or family’s healing journey is unique

At The Collaborative, we blend evidence-based practices with the latest innovations in the field. Your therapist will work with you to customize a plan that might draw on a few different approaches, building on your strengths and supporting your vulnerabilities.

  • AEDP, or “ Accelerated, Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy” seeks to help patients discover strength in places of pain and limitations. This approach recognizes that crisis and suffering provide opportunities to awaken capacities that might lie dormant. Therapists who use this approach foster healing experiences by promoting positive functioning such as self-compassion, well-being, and self-esteem.

  • Somatic Experiencing® professes a body-first approach to dealing with problematic and often physical symptoms of trauma. This means that therapy isn’t about reclaiming memories or changing our thoughts and beliefs about how we feel. Still, we look at the sensations underneath our feelings and uncover our habitual behavior patterns to these feelings.” Read more.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an empirically supported treatment for acute and chronic post-traumatic disorder. It is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and used to resolve many issues and challenges for people of all ages to resolve psychological distress.

  • Emotion Focused Therapy is leading the couple relationship field in redefining our understanding of romantic love as attachment bonds. EFT gives us a map that empowers couples by showing them new systematic ways to take control of disconnection and conflict and establish a secure, loving bond.
